Visited a while ago. Lovely atmosphere and surprisingly calm on weekend mornings despite the busy surroundings. Plenty of seating available. If you choose to sit outside, watch out for the crows—they won’t hesitate to go for your food! Good food and beautiful surroundings overall.

The restaurant delivers a satisfying dining experience that strikes a great balance between, comfort and efficiency. The portion sizes are generous and can be easily shared among 2 people and the food arrives fresh in a short period of time. Food is scrumptious and packed with authentic Sri Lankan flavors. The staff are very kind and attentive making this a great place for families and friends. Overall, cafe on the 5th is a great place to dine in and enjoy exquisite Sri Lankan dishes.

My partner and I arrived at about 5:30pm on a Tuesday and there were plenty of tables. Enjoyed the hopper meal for 1 to share between 2 but ended up getting more hoppers anyway! Everything was delicious. Efficient and professional service from the waiting staff, special thanks to Tuan Hafeel.

They hands down have the best hoppers in Sri Lanka! It’s our family’s favorite spot, and we keep coming back for them. The prices are very reasonable, and even after years, their quality has never dropped.

Absolutely love this place! Their Koththu and Parata are some of the best I’ve had—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and satisfying. Every dish I’ve tried here has been delicious and full of taste. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for tasty Sri Lankan food with great value for money. Friendly staff and clean atmosphere make it even better. Will definitely keep coming back!

We recently visited Café on the 5th for their hopper feast, and it was absolutely incredible! The hoppers were fresh, perfectly crispy, and full of flavor—each bite was a treat. Café on the 5th is a cozy and friendly place that’s perfect for relaxing or meeting friends. The moment you walk in, you feel calm and welcome. They have a comfortable setup that makes you want to stay for a while. The food is fresh and full of flavor. They serve a good mix of meals and snacks from creamy pasta and crispy sandwiches to fluffy waffles and delicious desserts. The breakfast options are also great, especially the omelets and toast with freshly brewed coffee. The coffee is rich and smooth, whether you like it hot or iced. Their brownies and cheesecakes are also worth trying sweet, soft, and perfectly made. The staff are friendly and helpful, always smiling and making sure customers are happy. The service is quick, and prices are fair for the quality and portion size. Parking is easy too there’s enough space near the café, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.

Wow what an amazing restaurant. ❤️Easily one of the best in Colombo. The food and the ambience were perfect. The prices were reasonable too. You should definitely try their delicious egg hoppers. 😋
